Lahore Qalandars started their campaign with a win against Hyderabad Kingsmen. They scored 199/6 while batting first, with Fakhar Zaman making 53 and Mohammad Naeem adding 30. Haseebullah Khan contributed 40 runs and Sikandar Raza added 24 not out to finish strong. With the ball, Haris Rauf, Ubaid Shah and Raza took two wickets each to bowl out the opposition for 130. Karachi also began well, beating Quetta Gladiators by 14 runs in their first match.
