Ravichandran Ashwin achieves a historic milestone. He made a new record in the match against England.

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has once again etched his name in cricketing history, achieving a remarkable milestone by becoming the first Indian bowler to secure 100 Test wickets against England. This extraordinary feat unfolded during the riveting action of Day 1 in the fourth Test at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
100th Scalp in Test Cricket Against England
From the onset, India displayed a commanding performance, asserting dominance over the English side and restricting them to a mere 112/5 by the lunch break. Ashwin’s pivotal moment arrived with the dismissal of Jonny Bairstow, who fell prey to the off-spinner’s strategic delivery, caught lbw. This marked Ashwin’s 100th scalp against England in the prestigious format of Test cricket.
Bairstow, showing aggression, attempted to take on Ashwin but fell victim to the off-spinner’s skillful delivery. Despite hitting a maximum in Ashwin’s first over and a boundary in the next, Bairstow succumbed to an lbw decision in the following ball.
The dismissal of Bairstow was a significant blow to England, who had already lost three wickets to debutant pacer Akash Deep. The visitors struggled to find their footing, with Ashwin’s milestone adding to their woes.
