Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja bagged 12 wickets as Saurashtra thrashed Delhi in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 to climb into the third position of the Elite Group D points table.

Ravindra Jadeja claimed a fifer and seven-fer against Delhi

Jadeja’s five-wicket haul helped Saurashtra to bowl out Delhi for 188 runs in the first innings of the match. In reply, Saurashtra scored 271 runs in their first innings. While the opener Harvik Desai missed his century as he was dismissed for 93 runs, and Arpit Vasavada scored 62 runs, Jadeja was the third-leading run-scorer in that innings with 38 off 36 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes.

Trailing by 83 runs, Delhi were bundled out for only 94 runs in their second innings, as Saurashtra had the fourth innings target of 12 runs, which they chased in 3.1 overs without losing any wickets. 

The left-arm spinner Jadeja took seven wickets in Delhi’s second innings as he had bowling figures of 12.2-1-38-7. In Delhi’s second innings, only the skipper Ayush Badoni (44), wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant (17), and opener Arpit Rana (12) managed the double-digit scores.

Ravindra Jadeja achieved some great records 

During this match, Ravindra Jadeja achieved some remarkable feats in first-class cricket. The left-arm spinner completed his 550 first-class wickets, as he has taken 554 first-class wickets in 136 matches.

Meanwhile, Jadeja became the fourth Saurashtra bowler to complete 200 first-class wickets for his team, as the left-arm spinner has picked up 208 first-class wickets for Saurashtra.

Jadeja’s 7/38 recorded the fourth-best bowling figures (in an innings) for Saurashtra in their first-class cricket history. Meanwhile, his 12/104 also recorded the third-best bowling figures for Saurashtra in their first-class cricket match history.
