Incredible scenes at Ekana Cricket Stadium last night (May 27), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pulled out their best performance of this season to conceal their spot in the top 2 of IPL 2025.

Jitesh Sharma, down on a knee, played a powerful sweep shot for a maximum. RCB surpassed Lucknow Super Giants' 227 with 6 wickets in hand and 8 balls to spare. This is their highest successful run chase in the history of IPL and also the third-highest successful chase in the tournament.

Along with this achievement, the boys in red and black have won all of their away games so far in the ongoing campaign. Next, they will face Punjab Kings in the Qualifier 1 match.

Pant's century was not enough to stop Jitesh Sharma and Co.

In the 4th ball of the 19th over of the second innings, LSG's Ayush Badoni was up against Jitesh Sharma. Sharma was in fiery form, successfully reading the right-arm spinner's delivery on middle and leg stump and delivering a sweep shot to ensure the win the entire RCB camp looked for. Rishabh Pant, the skipper of LSG, set the tone high with his blazing 118 not-out innings of 61 deliveries.

Super Giants experienced the first bump when Virat Kohli swiftly produced a 54-run innings off 30 balls. Liam Livingston's departure with a duck proved to be the silence before the storm created by Mayank Agarwal and Jitesh Sharma. Agarwal and Sharma scored an unbeaten 41 and an unbeaten 85, respectively, and RCB won the match by 6 wickets.
