In the crucial IPL 2026 match, Lucknow Super Giants vs Kolkata Knight Riders (LSG vs KKR), KKR batters had another hard time. While Rinku Singh played another memorable knock, he finished the innings with four consecutive sixes in the final over.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant chose to field first after winning the toss in this game. While KKR are in the 10th place and LSG are in the ninth position in the IPL 2026 points table, it is a very important match for both teams, as both can't afford another defeat.

The top and middle-order batters from KKR failed to score runs, as the three-time champions were struggling to reach even the three-figure mark. In the final over, Digvesh Rathi came to bowl, who conceded 20 runs in three overs. While Rathi delivered two wides in the first three deliveries, Rinku then smashed four straight sixes before finishing the innings with a dot ball. In that final over, LSG scored 26 runs, as the hosts scored 155/7 in 20 overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders were struggling after shocking top order collapse

KKR batters failed to control the first innings, as the visitors were struggling at 93/7. Apart from the no.6 batter Rinku Singh, only the opener and captain Ajinkya Rahane (10) and the no.4 batter Cameron Green (34) managed to reach double-digit scores in that innings. Rinku had a 62-run partnership with Sunil Narine (4 not out off 6 balls) for the unbroken eighth wicket in the last five overs, where Narine provided the solid support to hold the wicket from the other end.

Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 83 powers stunning comeback for KKR

Rinku Singh once again proved his strong character, as when KKR were in deep trouble without any other option, the left-handed middle-order batter produced another gem knock. After completing his half-century in 42 balls, he fired in the last overs.

In the 19th over, Rinku smashed a six following two back-to-back fours to Mohammed Shami. Then, the KKR middle-order batter finished with four consecutive sixes to Digvesh Rathi. Rinku finished the innings with 83 not out off 51 balls with seven fours and five sixes.
