With the selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), under the chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar, set to pick the 15-member squad for the Blue Brigade for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, several reports have spoken of the potential inclusion of many players. But not much has been spoken about the late order batter, Rinku Singh.

The 27-year-old Uttar Pradesh-born batter, Rinku Singh, has enjoyed success in the shortest format of the national side. He smashed 546 runs in 24 innings at a T20I average of 42 and a strike rate of over 160 with the help of three half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 69 runs.

Rinku is currently in the news for a speculation that he could join the Big Boss 19 season, hosted by the Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan. In a recent Instagram story, he congratulated the social media influencer, Mridul Tiwari, for entering the house of the Big Boss. That has sparked speculation among the fans of the batter on various social media platforms.

The southpaw has earned so much success in the shortest format. In 142 innings, Rinku has smashed 3221 runs at an average of over 34 and a strike rate of nearly 150 with the help of 17 half-centuries at the best score of 79 runs. He didn’t have a great IPL 2025 for the Kolkata Knight Riders, finishing with 206 runs in 11 innings at an average of around 30 and a strike rate of 150, with the best score of 38*.

Rinku has shown his skill of coming late in the batting order and smashing the big shots around the park. Moreover, he is also a rocket fielder, which is additionally a great skill to have. In 2023, he made his name in the T20s, with 474 runs in 14 innings at an average of nearly 60, with a strike rate of around 150.

It will be a hard job for the selectors to pick a balanced squad for the Blue Brigade in the Asia Cup. However, it’s a good headache that they have so many options for limited places in the squad.
