A viral video of the two wicket-keepers of the Indian team, Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni, partying with their group of friends just after the end of the two-match Test series in 2026 between India and Sri Lanka in Galle and Colombo. In what seems to be a hotel room, Pant can be spotted in a drunk manner as he was lying while chatting with his company.

Pant, before the red-ball series against Sri Lanka, was seen spending a lengthy time in Ranchi with Dhoni, where he practiced in the academy as the former Indian captain drove him home from the practice on most occasions. That practice session appeared to have helped Pant a lot in that period.

MS Dhoni was spotted in the background of the viral video as he shook Pant’s hand. He informed the former vice-captain of the team that he was going downstairs to smoke ‘hookah.’ The table can be seen filled with a variety of drinks, where one can spot beer cans and cocktails.

Both Dhoni and Pant were seen to be enjoying a good time with their group of friends. The latter seemed intoxicated and relaxed on the sofa with an elderly person as he called out to Dhoni, who came after clicking a picture and shook his hands before saying, ‘jara hookah peeke aata hu.’

Dhoni and Pant were also spotted together during the third ODI of India’s previous series against England at Lord’s. Pant created headlines by directly tweeting to Pushkar Singh Dhoni, who is the CM of Uttarakhand. He requested ease in buying land in a late-night post filled with mistakes.

How Rishabh Pant fared with the bat against Sri Lanka in Tests

During the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka in Galle and Colombo, Pant celebrated two half-centuries and ended the trip with 168 runs in three innings at an average of 56, with a best score of 66 runs. His second innings of the opening Galle Test made him the first Indian batter in Tests to score 100 sixes.

The Delhi batter has overall smashed 3725 runs in 90 innings of the longest format at an average of 43.82 and a strike rate of 74.15, shouldering eight centuries and 21 half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 159 runs against Australia in Sydney.

Pant will now turn his focus to their upcoming red-ball series against New Zealand, as they hope to get the top two places to feature in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025/27 final.
