Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's Test cricket futures doubtful

Not only the skipper Rohit Sharma, but the former Indian captain Virat Kohli is also in danger of losing his place in the Indian Test team. The selectors are also going through tough periods, while Kohli’s Test cricket future has reportedly been decided.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli are struggling in Test cricket. While Kohli’s form is steadily moving down, the ongoing season is a nightmare for the Test skipper Rohit.

According to media sources, the chief selector Ajit Agarkar landed in Australia in the middle of the Test series to discuss the team management with the head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Rohit Sharma may have played his last Test

After the Melbourne Test match, Rohit Sharma was reportedly informed he was not in the Test cricket plan anymore. If this report is correct, it means that we have already seen him in Test cricket for the last time, which was the Melbourne Test as a captain. 

The sensational report also claimed that the off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also received a similar message after his last Test during the Adelaide Test. It was the day-night pink ball Test, where Ashwin last time served for the Indian team. At the end of the next Test at Brisbane, Ashwin officially announced his retirement from international cricket, which was shocking for many.

Virat Kohli's Test cricket future is doubtful

After the end of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Virat Kohli may have to face a talk with the selectors regarding his Test cricket future. 

According to the sensational report, Kohli was initially planned for the England tour in the upcoming 2025 summer, which could be his last Test series if his form doesn’t improve. However, his present Test cricket form is making his life more difficult as he is on the thin edge of his Test career. While Rohit and Kohli both have already announced their T20I retirement, they can now only be active in the ODI format if this report becomes true. 

Another senior member Ravindra Jadeja is reportedly going to be unharmed at present as the selectors feel that the all-rounder is still a very important name in the Test team.
