India showcased a dominant performance in the Sydney ODI, with former Indian captain Rohit Sharma playing a pivotal role. Rohit’s masterful batting helped him reach his 50th international century, making him the third Indian cricketer to achieve this remarkable milestone in international cricket history.

Chasing a target of 237 runs in the Sydney ODI, India entered the match already trailing 2-0 in the three-match ODI series as of Saturday (October 25). Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave the team a strong foundation with a 69-run partnership for the first wicket.

Following the dismissal of Shubman Gill for 24 runs, Rohit Sharma formed an unbeaten 168-run partnership with Virat Kohli, steering India to a comprehensive nine-wicket victory by reaching the target in just 38.3 overs.

Rohit scored a 105-ball century as it was his 33rd ODI century. It was Rohit's 50th international century, as he became the third Indian and 10th overall batter to record at least 50 international centuries.

This marked Rohit Sharma’s second ODI century at Sydney Cricket Ground, making him the first Indian to register more than one ODI hundred at the venue. With three sixes in the match, Rohit reached 349 ODI sixes, just two shy of former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi’s record of 351 ODI sixes.
