Former India cricketer Wriddhiman Saha earned profuse praise from the former India skipper Rohit Sharma. Sharma describes Saha as the best wicketkeeper of India.

A recent video on social media platforms shows how Rohit Sharma joyfully explains the greatness of Wriddhiman Saha, who played multiple Tests and ODIs for Team India. Though he was not a regular figure in the playing XI as the nature of the cricket changed over time. Despite the undoubted wicketkeeping talent of Saha, the board started to prefer other keepers like Rishabh Pant over him. It was believed that Saha became irregular for Team India because of batting. His performance with the bat was not up to the mark for the Men in Blue.

But Rohit Sharma still can remember those days with Saha when they used to pair up on the same line while fielding. Saha was the keeper, while Rohit used to stand in the slip cordon. The former captain said they played multiple matches together, both home and away.

Rohit Sharma describes why Wriddhiman Saha was a great keeper for India

To describe how good Saha was with the keeping gloves, Rohit, for example, mentioned different kinds of bowling styles of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. These bowlers have different bowling styles. Jadeja often delivers quick deliveries; on the other side, Ashwin was a skillful spinner who could deliver multiple variations. For a keeper, it is never an easy job to collect every type of delivery precisely for a whole long day. But Saha managed to do that successfully.

Wriddhiman Saha played 40 Test matches for Team India to score 1353 runs at an average of 29.41, including three 100s and six 50s. During this time, the keeper successfully claimed 92 catches and did 12 stumpings. In ODIs, he scored 41 runs in 9 games and took 17 catches and did one stump.
