Cricket fans can go to extraordinary lengths to meet their favourite stars, but one Rohit Sharma fan has travelled on a cycle from Odisha to Mumbai to take his admiration for the former captain of the Indian side to another level. The fan covered a massive distance with one simple dream of meeting his idol.     

The incredible journey has caught the attention of fans around the world once the video went viral on social media platforms. The effort of the fan has highlighted the passion and emotional connection that these fans share with their cricketing heroes.

Rohit has once again displayed why his bond with his fans goes beyond the cricketing field. A fan’s determination has caught the attention of the Indian star, having cycled from Odisha to Mumbai. After completing the massive journey, he finally got the chance to meet his idol.

The heartwarming interaction has gone viral on social media. The fan also gifted a fine statue of Lord Jagannath to the star batter as the Indian star took a selfie with his fan.

This wasn’t the first time Rohit has met his fans openly. He did the same when he was in London a few months ago and gave an autograph to one of his fans in the middle of the shirt. He also did the same when he made an appearance at the Dubai Mall and gave an autograph to the fans.

Rohit has overall smashed 11895 runs in 280 innings of ODI cricket at an average of 48.95 and a blistering strike rate of 93.04, having celebrated 34 centuries and 62 fifties at the best score of 264, which came at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata against Sri Lanka. 

The Nagpur-born was under pressure after two low scores during the first couple of ODIs against England at Edgbaston and Sophia Gardens. However, he silenced the critics with a fine knock of 138 runs during the decider at Lord’s.

Rohit, who finished the 2023 ODI World Cup as the captain of the runners-up Indian side, will hope to give it a last try during the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
