During the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians match in IPL 2025, Rohit Sharma demonstrated that leadership is far more than being a captain. He directed MI's debutant fast bowler Satyanarayana Raju from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

Rohit’s guidance not only boosted Raju’s confidence but also showcased MI’s commitment to nurturing young talent. Post-match, Raju expressed gratitude, emphasizing how Rohit’s words eased his nerves.

Coming into the IPL 2025 season, Raju was particularly impressive in the Andhra Premier League 2024 where he bagged 8 wickets in 7 matches. This led MI to acquire him for 30 lakh rupees during the 2025 IPL auction. During his debut, he was put up against formidable batters for a debut game as he had to chase down a target against MI. Rohit did stuck with him- guiding him strategically, field-wise, and motivating him for the rest of the game.
