WATCH: Rohit Sharma says "I want to play World Cup 2027" to young cricket fans

As an Indian captain, Rohit Sharma had a great opportunity to win the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, as he would become the first Indian captain to win a World Cup by winning all the matches in the tournament, as they suffered only one defeat in that tournament, which was in the Final against Australia.

Rohit Sharma is now active in only the ODI format, while the former Indian captain has already retired from T20I and Test cricket, and recently, he has been replaced by Shubman Gill as the ODI skipper. Under Rohit Sharma's leadership, India recently won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025, both as the unbeaten side. 

Recently, in a Make-A-Wish child video, when the former Indian skipper Rohit Sharma met with some kids, one kid asked him some of his future cricket-related questions. It was a nice conversation, where the two-time ICC trophy-winning captain revealed that he would like to play the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, which South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia will host, but there are more matches before the tournament.

Kid: When will you play next?

Rohit Sharma: I will play in October. 19th October we are playing in Australia.

Kid: When is the next one day World Cup?

Rohit Sharma: 2027

Kid: Are you going to play in it?

Rohit Sharma: I want to.....

Kid: You're going to play right?

Rohit Sharma: Yes.

Kid: I want to see you bat.

Rohit Sharma: World Cup! there are alot of matches before that.

Kid: We want the trophy. Our third one day international trophy. It's your wish too right?

Rohit Sharma: To win the World Cup? Yes....
