After the end of the opening ODI of the three-match series between India and West Indies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, as the players headed back to the team hotel, a video went viral around the social media platforms, where Rohit Sharma was seen to be slipping from the team bus.  

The blue brigade complete the chase of 300 runs by eight wickets with 50 deliveries to spare. That was based on the 151-run partnership for the second wicket between Virat Kohli and their captain, Shubman Gill.

The video showed that Rohit was trying to get out of the bus. However, he tried to look straight and didn’t look down, and fumbled at the end. The security guards and the support staff of the Indian side rushed to the place and tried to get Rohit up on his feet.

Virat Kohli and a few other members had already made their way into the hotel. The former looked back at Rohit. Kohli looked concerned. There is no reported injury scare for the Nagpur-born, as India will change their focus for the second game of the series on November 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

The three 50-over games are quite important for both these batters, who have already retired from the T20Is and Tests. They have set their only aim towards the upcoming 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

How Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma contributed in IND vs WI 1st ODI chase

During the first game of the series, West Indies posted a massive score of 295 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Justin Greaves smashed 101 runs off 108 balls at a strike rate of 93.52, thanks to 12 boundaries, while Amir Jangoo drilled unbeaten 58 runs off 43 balls at a strike rate of 134.88, shouldering on seven boundaries and one six.

The Indian side completed the chase by eight wickets. Gill blasted 110 runs with 13 boundaries and one six, while Kohli remained unbeaten on 139 runs off just 88 balls, shouldering on 10 boundaries and nine sixes. Rohit played a decent knock of 32 runs.
