WATCH: Rohit Sharma spotted vacationing in Italy with wife Ritika Sajdeh amid India vs England Test series
Rohit Sharma enjoys family time in Italy after retiring from Test cricket as he gears up for his ODI return against Bangladesh in August.

As India and England battle across a gripping five-match Test series for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, former India Test captain Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying a break from international cricket. Having stepped away from the longest format ahead of the series, Rohit has been spotted vacationing in Italy, with fans clicking pictures of the veteran batter in the streets of Milan. The 38-year-old also posted on his social media, sharing glimpses of the iconic Duomo di Milano, suggesting he's enjoying his downtime before returning to ODI action.
Rohit, who now exclusively plays One-Day Internationals for India, has no immediate playing duties while the Test squad faces England. His next assignment is in August when India travels to Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series, beginning on August 17. Until then, the former skipper has the opportunity to rest and recharge while keeping a close eye on how his successor handles the rigors of leadership in red-ball cricket.
Rohit Sharma was also seen soaking in the culture and sights of Italy with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, and daughter, Samaira. Prior to this, he was spotted in Abu Dhabi following the conclusion of his IPL 2025 campaign. Now, enjoying some well-earned downtime, Rohit appears to be relishing his life off the field, with multiple fan encounters in Italy also making the rounds online.
Rohit Reflects on Hardik’s Heroics and Upcoming Return
While Rohit is off duty for now, he recently opened up about India's triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, particularly praising Hardik Pandya’s memorable final over. Speaking on Star Sports, Rohit said, “This was an emotional moment. Hardik is my man; he did the job for me and the team; otherwise, we would've been sitting without anything in our hands.” Pandya had defended 16 runs in the last over and dismissed David Miller, sealing the long-awaited title for India under Rohit’s leadership.
