[WATCH] Rohit Sharma unboxes precious gift for Mohammed Siraj on ground

Rohit Sharma presented Mohammed Siraj a precious gift ahead of the IPL 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.

The gift, a beautifully designed ring, was from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for all the players who were part of the ICC T20I World Cup-winning team. BCCI awarded the players in a Naman Awards ceremony held earlier this year. Siraj missed the stage, so he received the award now. Mohammed Siraj was an integral part of the historic squad.

Team India defeated South Africa in a high-octane match to hoist the prestigious trophy. It was a major ICC tournament success since the Champions Trophy 2013 triumph. The ring BCCI awarded to the players is customized with their names and jersey numbers, the same as the ring Siraj received from Rohit Sharma, under whose leadership Team India achieved the success.

As soon as the ICC T20I World Cup 2024 wrapped up, Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from the T20 international. Later, they were joined by another star cricketer of the trophy-winning side, Ravindra Jadeja.

A champion's medal for Mohammed Siraj 

At a point of the final match, South Africa positioned themselves well enough to grab the silverware. They had to score only 30 runs off as many balls. But Indian players hold their nerves strongly enough to turn the table.  

BCCI shared a video in which we can see Rohit Sharma presented the gift to Siraj. During this moment Sharma said, "So I am proudly presenting him a very, very special ring that was made for all of us. Unfortunately, Siraj wasn't there, so I'd like to present this to Mr. Siraj."
