Royal Challengers Bengaluru beats Delhi Capitals in bidding war to buy Nadine de Klerk during WPL 2026 auction

The 2024 champions of the Women's Premier League (WPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru, was successul to buy the South Africa all-rounder, Nadine de Klerk, by winning the bidding war in the WPL 2026 mega auction.

Nadine de Clerk of the South Africa side comes with a lots of experience in the shortest format of the game, having been a regular member in the Proteas side. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), after opening their account with the collection of Georgia Voll, also signed the all-rounder, who will be valuable for their second title.

In her 49 T20I innings of the Women’s cricket, Nadine De Clerk has smashed 660 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike rate of 106.79 with the help of the best score of 44 runs. With the ball, the right-arm pacer has collected a total of 51 wickets in 57 innings at an average of nearly 24 and a strike rate of 20 with an economy rate of 7.35.

De Klerk was part of the Bengaluru franchise in 2023/24 season but featured in only one game where he ended with a decent figures of 2/35 with the ball and got just one run with the bat in two balls. But now, she could look for a better chance in the franchise with more experience under her wings.

At the bas price of INR 30 lakh, it was Warriorz, who opened the account and stated the bidding before the Bengaluru side joined the party and kept raising the puddle and finished with the price of INR 65 lakh. UP decided to give up at the last moment as Bengaluru was able to successfully sign the star player.

Bengaluru has already made a great start in the auction, having got the Australia top-order batter, Georgia Voll, who can now look to open the batting with their captain and star player- Smriti Mandhana, which can bring a massive balance to the eleven.  

Ahead of the auction, the 2024 champions of the league decided to retain Mandhana and India’s Richa Ghosh in the team along with the spinner- Shreyanka Patil and the star Australia all-rounder- Ellyse Perry.
