As the league gears up for its second season, things just got a whole lot bigger as Bollywood's Salman Khan has taken ownership of the New Delhi franchise. This is sure to ramp up the buzz for the tournament, signalling a paradigm shift in the potential of the ISPL's stature.
The core committee member of ISPL, Ashish Shelar also expressed his happiness at the league’s rising popularity. Shelar also went onto highlight the impressive viewership numbers on both broadcast as well as on digital platforms. He then went on to welcome Salman Khan’s involvement, calling it a big boost for the league’s visibility, and it will also be helpful for boosting the fandom of the league. Shelar also acknowledged the massive support that ISPL has received over the last two seasons and also shared his hopes for an even bigger as well as better response from fans in the upcoming seasons.

“We've witnessed two phenomenal seasons, with record-breaking numbers across broadcast and digital platforms. It is truly encouraging to see growing support for our vision. The Dabangg star, Salman Khan, shared his excitement about joining the Indian Street Premier League, alongside several other Bollywood celebrities who also own teams in the tournament. These include Amitabh Bachchan (Majhi Mumbai), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Tigers of Kolkata), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar Ke Veer), Suriya (Chennai Singams), Hrithik Roshan (Bangalore Strikers), and Ram Charan (Falcon Risers Hyderabad). Salman praised the tournament for its positive impact on grassroots cricket and expressed his enthusiasm for being part of such a unique initiative.
