Sanju Samson Reveals Why He Has Blossomed Under Gautam Gambhir Regime After Latest Fifty in Asia Cup 2025

Ahead of the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match, Sanju Samson acknowledged head coach Gautam Gambhir's impact behind his recent charismatic batting performance through a video posted by BCCI on their official social media platforms. Samson explained how Gambhir helped him to groom his batting. The keeper-batter also thanked India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav. 

Sanju Samson became a permanent member of the T20I setup after the appointment of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach of Team India. Before that, Samson's international career was unstable. Gambhir came in charge of the Men in Blue after the ICC T20I World Cup 2024, when India hoisted the trophy under the coaching of Rahul Dravid. Dravid's tenure came to an end with the conclusion of the tournament. 

Gambhir's arrival came as a blessing in disguise for the star keeper-batter. Samson made his mark permanently, scoring multiple centuries, including two consecutive hundreds during the last quarter of 2024. He smashed a century against Bangladesh and a couple of tons against South Africa. In the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, against Oman, when Samson got to bat for the first time in the tournament, he hit a half-century for a winning cause.

Samson credit Gambhir and Yadav for his effective batting performance 

Ahead of India's first Super Four clash, the 30-year-old said that Gambhir has backed him a lot. He claimed that Gambhir and Yadav created an equal environment in the dressing room, for which players are receiving equal importance as well. 

"Lots of credit to Surya & Gauti bhai for how they are keeping the environment—it's very chilled, it's a very equal environment—everyone is treated equally, everyone is given equal importance on the side—that really brings out the best possible," Sanju Samson said.
