Scary moment! Young Delhi Capitals player suffers serious facial injury in practice rushed to hospital after heavy blow

Delhi Capitals practice camp had a scary moment on Friday (April 24), as a young player suffered a facial injury that forced him to get hospitalised. During the practice session, he had bleeding, while the youngster got primary treatment on the field before rushing to the hospital. 

A video is going viral on social media accounts, where we can see a young Delhi Capitals player receiving medical attention. According to that report, that player suffered an injury on his face when a ball hit his face. While the impact was very strong, the player had bleeding. He was hospitalised soon after receiving the primary treatment on the field.  

The injured player was the 18-year-old Sahil Parakh. He is the left-handed opening batter and a part-time leg-spinner. DC bought him from the IPL 2026 auction for INR 30 lakhs. He is the youngest player in the present DC squad.

Young Delhi Capitals player struck on face during intense practice session

Delhi Capitals were busy in the practice session on Friday, while they have an important match on Saturday. On Saturday afternoon (April 24), Delhi Capitals will host Punjab Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC are currently in the sixth position in the IPL 2026 points table with six points after six matches, recording three wins and three losses. However, in their last four matches, they lost three times and won only once.

While it was an important practice session for DC, Sahil suffered that brutal injury during that session. The practice halted as the franchise medical staff quickly attended to the injured youngster. He was on the stretcher while receiving the first aid.

Heavy impact causes bleeding as player rushed to hospital on stretcher

Soon, Sahil was rushed to the nearby hospital. According to the recent MyKhel report, he can undergo a scan soon. However, there is no clarification from the franchise yet on the status of the injury. The entire team is sad after this incident, while everyone is praying for the early recovery of the youngster, who has played two T20 matches for Maharashtra.
