Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto is full of confidence before ICC Champions Trophy, believing his team will win their first ever ICC title. In the 2023 World Cup they have tough time, where they won only two matches, and just one ODI series victory against Sri Lanka since then, Shanto feels his squad is ready to win the first title for his team. The ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan and the UAE from February 19, sees Bangladesh placed in Group A alongside India, New Zealand, and Pakistan.

Nazmul Hossain Shanto Captain of Bangladesh Team said that "We are going to the Champions Trophy to win,". "All eight teams have a chance, and we are not different. We trust in our abilities, and there’s no extra pressure." With former captain Shakib Al Hasan missing from the squad, Shanto is still confident in the team’s balance. He highlighted the improvements in Bangladesh’s fast bowling and spin attack, which were once weaknesses.

"Our pace bowling has gotten much stronger, and now we even have quality wrist spinners," he said. "If every player performs their role well, we can beat any team on any day." Bangladesh will start their campaign against India in Dubai on February 20, followed by matches against New Zealand in Rawalpindi on February 24 and Pakistan on February 27, as they aim for a place in the knockout rounds.
