Watch: Shimron Hetmyer shocked with his dismissal in RR vs RCB IPL 2026 match

During the Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RR vs RCB) match in the IPL 2026 at Guwahati on Friday night (April 10), Rajasthan cricketer Shimron Hetmyer was shocked by his dismissal. Although RR comfortably won that match, cricket fans can't forget that shocking dismissal. 

Another rain interruptions handled by the Guwahati ground staff professionally, as we experienced a complete game despite a more than an hour delayed start. Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag won the toss and sent RCB to bat first. 

Although the RCB opener Virat Kohli managed to provide a quick start with 32 runs off 16 balls, the visitors were in trouble due to losing wickets at regular intervals. Struggling at 125/7, the skipper Rajat Patidar's fighting 63 off 40 balls and some late cameos helped RCB to manage a total of 201/8.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set powerful start in chase

However, the target wasn't safe when the RR opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was present. Although his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) was dismissed cheaply, Vaibhav played a stormy knock that helped the 15-year-old to snatch the Orange Cap from his opening partner. 

Vaibhav recorded another 15-ball 50 runs, where he smashed seven fours and four sixes. With the help of eight fours and seven sixes, the left-handed opening batter scored 78 off 26 balls. While he was dismissed on the first ball of the ninth over, as Krunal Pandya got his wicket after Virat Kohli took a good catch in the long on, RR already scored 129/2. 

Shimron Hetmyer scores golden duck

While there was not much tension in the chase after Vaibhav's dismissal, the no.4 batter Shimron Hetmyer lost his wicket shockingly for a golden duck. The left-arm spinner Krunal delivered a quicker short delivery, as Hetmyer played a casual shot that found Josh Hazlewood at short third. Even the Caribbean star couldn't believe his own dismissal. 

However, Rajasthan Royals still comfortably won the match, as they have won all their first four games of the season. The no.3 batter Dhruv Jurel played a strong knock of 81 not out off 43 balls (eight fours and three sixes), as Rajasthan chased down the target in 18 overs after losing four wickets.
