Team India captain Shubman Gill provided important updates about the injury status of Rishabh Pant. The keeper-batter received an injury on his fingertips during the England vs. India 3rd Test at the Lord's cricket ground.

Despite receiving some medical treatments, he was in clear discomfort, and after that particular over of Jasprit Bumrah, Pant left his spot to Dhruv Jurel, who did the keeping job as Pant was forced to leave the field because of the injury. Rishabh did his batting job with the pain and experienced a hard time against the fast bowlers.

In the second innings, with the injury, the middle-order batter played multiple strokes using only one hand. So, the tension about his availability in the 4th Test at the Old Trafford inManchester is under the scanner. The recent updates provided by the captain would allow Indian cricket fans to breathe in fresh air. Gill is hopeful about Pant's recovery ahead of their next assignment, as the injury may not be so serious.

"Rishabh went for scans, and there is no major injury there. I think he should be fine for the next test match," Gill said to the reporters. 

The southpaw's inputs can be crucial for Team India, as Team India is currently trailing the 5-match series by 2-1 against England. His counter-attacking batting style in the middle often forced the opposition to make a shift in their strategy. Currently, Pant is the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, having scored 425 runs from six innings, including two centuries. India captain Shubman Gill is top of the chart with a whopping 607 runs in the three tests played so far. India will target to win the upcoming match, which is scheduled to take place at Old Trafford in Manchester, beginning on July 23, as the match will be a do-or-die situation for the touring side.
