One of the most talked-about moments of Gill’s visit came from the stands as he got the chance to meet the Tennis legend, Roger Federer, as the photos went viral on social media platforms.
“Roger Federer is my favourite. Growing up, a lot of people said he made everything look effortless. But when you play a sport yourself, you realize how much work goes into making it look that way. The elegance and grace Federer played with was special, and that is why I admire him.” Gill said in the interaction with JioHotstar.

Shubman Gill to begin practice for ODI series vs England after Wimbledon visit
India didn’t enjoy the first leg of the white-ball series against England as they lost the five-match T20I series by a 4-0 margin under the leadership of the newly appointed Shreyas Iyer. They were timid with their batting intent throughout the series and dropped several crucial catches during the game.

But the visitors will be eager to make a clinical comeback in the ODIs under Gill’s captaincy. They have already started the practice, with the opening ODI beginning on July 14 at Edgbaston in Birmingham before the action moves to Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on July 16. The third and final game will be played on July 19 at Lord’s in London.
