SL vs BAN, Super Four Match 1 of Asia Cup 2025: Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh Toss Update and Playing XIs

Before the tournament, Bangladesh proved to be the better team than Sri Lanka by clinching a T20I series. In today's (September 20, 2025) game of the Super Four, both of the sides will play for their pride.

Sri Lanka proved their mettle in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2025 by defeating their archrival Bangladesh (SL vs BAN Asia Cup 2025). Before the tournament, Bangladesh proved to be the better team than Sri Lanka by clinching a T20I series. In today's (September 20, 2025) game of the Super Four, both of the sides will play for their pride. In this stage of the tournament, the Net Run Rate of each team can play a vital role in confirming the top two teams. So far, in the contest, the island nation looked more confident than the Tiger brigade. Bangladesh qualified for the best of four teams by defeating Hong Kong and Afghanistan. Sri Lanka got their ticket for Super Four by defeating Afghanistan. 

Toss Update:

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. They made a couple of changes in their playing XI. 

Litton Das, the Bangladesh captain, said that they are not sure about the character of the surface. They took a gamble on the odds. The wicket in Dubai, in the past, helped the team batting second.

On the other side, Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka mentioned that they kept their playing combination for the game unchanged. He was not happy losing the toss and batting first. He was hoping for positives from the track batting first.

Bangladesh—Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Tawhid Hridoy, Litton Das (C/WK), Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, Mahedi Hasan (in for Nurul Hasan), Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam (in for Rishad Hossain), Mustafizur Rahman.

Sri Lanka—Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (WK), Kamil Mishara, Kusal Perera, Charith Asalanka (C), Kamindu Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Thushara.
