Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has returned as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) presidency election is ringing in the corner, the “Prince of Kolkata” joined as CAB President.

CAB AGM has been scheduled for September 22, when the elections will be held. However, as Sourav Ganguly is the only candidate in the nomination list for the CAB President post, he is set to return to the post.

When did Sourav Ganguly previously hold CAB President role?

Former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was CAB President between 2015 and 2019. Later, in October 2019, Ganguly became BCCI President, while Avishek Dalmiya, the son of former BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya took charge of the CAB President. In October 2022, former Bengal cricketer and Sourav Ganguly’s elder brother, Snehasish Ganguly, was the CAB President before the upcoming CAB AGM.
