Batting first, Southern Brave lost Maia Bouchier early, but Wyatt-Hodge took control with a superb knock of 59 from 39 balls, hitting nine fours and a six. Laura Wolvaardt played a handy innings of 28 from 19 balls, and Sophie Devine added 27 from 25. Birmingham’s bowlers worked hard to keep things in check, with Megan Schutt taking 2 for 23 and Em Arlott picking up 2 for 20. Southern Brave finished their innings on 139 for 7 in 100 balls.
Birmingham Phoenix had a tough start to their chase, slipping to 22 for 3. Ellyse Perry and Sterre Kalis then gave them hope with a solid partnership.
