Watch: SRH share special Travis Head video ahead of IPL 2026
For the opening match of the IPL 2026, SRH will be up against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has shared a specially edited video to build hype ahead of IPL 2026. IPL 2026 is all set to start on March 28. For the opening match, SRH will be up against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. Fans can expect a flurry of runs when these two teams collide, as both sides have some world-class batters who are masters at hitting the ball all around the park.
Travis Head is the main figure of the video shared by SRH. The management has a plethora of expectations of the Aussie opener. The future of the team in the IPL 2026 will largely depend on the form of the batter. If the head finds out his run-scoring bat at the right point, then Hyderabad will not need to worry about a handsome amount of runs on the scoreboard.
Why Travis Head is crucial for SRH in IPL 2026
Travis is crucial for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming Indian Premier League season. The team has built around multiple all-rounders, which has left them with a very limited number of full-time batters. Head, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen are the key batters of the side, along with Smaran Ravichandran, Aniket Verma, and Salil Arora.
From the all-round section, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Liam Livingstone, and Kamindu Mendis will be with the team to support the top-order batters.
For the initial few matches of the contest, Ishan Kishan will be in charge of leading the team from the front, as Pat Cummins is expected to join the team late. Without Cummins on board, the bowling part of the team looks very fragile for the high-caliber franchise league.

To make progress in the tournament, SRH had no option but to rely on their batting power. In the previous season, the batting powerhouse around Sharma, Kishan, Head, and Klaasen showed only some glimpses of the real strength as a unit. Head, who batted with an average of 40.50 in 2024 with SRH, dropped to 31.16 in 2025. If the attacking batter finds his rhythm, then the team can take long strides to the playoffs.
Fans react to SRH’s hype video before the new season
Fans on social media platforms, so far, have shown a mixed reaction to the hype video. While some of the fans are praising the video and expressing expectations in Head, a few netizens felt that the video around the Australian star batter is unnecessary.
“School reopens today. Head Master is BACK with that EVIL SMILE to give every bowler detention they’ll never forget, Orange Army, it’s time to dominate IPL 2026,” a fan commented.
“Why hyping these Aussies, it's just a 2-month vacation for them, they don't even care for the league,” another fan has a different opinion on the video.
