Star India pacer ruled out from upcoming home series against West Indies

A major blow for India ahead of the India vs West Indies Test series, as their star pacer Prasidh Krishna left the field with an injury threat. During Day 2 of India A vs Australia A In a second unofficial test match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, a bouncer hit Krishna's helmet. After a while, he had to leave the field. 

Against Australia A team's first innings of 420 runs, India A struggled to find their rhythm throughout the day. Krishna came to bat at number 9 after the dismissal of all-rounder Manav Suthar. India was then 127 for 7 and needed some solidarity in the middle. Krishna got some batting skills as well, so there are expectations around him. 

The pacer started to bat with a cool head but decided to go big after playing a few balls. With a boundary and an over-boundary, he scored 16 off 25. At the moment when he was about to accelerate his strike rate, a bouncer from Australia A team pacer, Henry Thornton, struck the helmet of Prasidh Krishna. The team physio quickly rushed onto the field and performed a concussion test. After that, Krishna remained on the crease for a while but was not able to continue for a long time and eventually retired hurt.

BCCI can drop Prasidh Krishna from the Test squad vs West Indies 

The day was already tough for the India A team, and then there was the injury threat of Prasidh Krishna. Yash Thakur has replaced him as a concussion sub, as Krishna will take no further part in the match, claimed media reports. 

Ahead of the India vs West Indies two-match Test series, multiple star players are performing for India A against Australia A. Krishna was with Team India during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England and played multiple matches as well, including the series decider game at The Oval. But overall the pacer lacked consistency. It is also being claimed that Krishna can be dropped from the India squad for the West Indies Test series.
