Star India player retires from international cricket with heartfelt note.

The Indian top-order batter, Cheteshwar Pujara, has announced his retirement from international cricket for India. In an emotional statement, besides posting the picture of him wearing the Test jersey, he looked back at the moment of signing the national anthem and giving his best whenever he stepped on the field, as he called it an experience beyond words to describe.
Pujara finishes as the eighth leading run-getter in the longest format for India with 7195 runs in 176 innings at an average of 43.60 and a strike rate of 44.36, having 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 206 runs in Ahmedabad. He ended as a pillar of India’s Test side over a decade with his calm presence and unwavering focus to handle the number three position.

“Wearing the Indian jersey, singing the anthem, and trying my best each time I stepped on the field- it’s impossible to put into words what it truly meant. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and with immense gratitude, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket.” Pujara wrote in an emotional message.

For India to win the BGT 2018/19 as their first red-ball series victory against Australia down under, Pujara had a huge contribution with the bat as he finished as the leading run-getter of the series with 521 runs in seven innings, facing 1258 deliveries, thanks to three centuries and one half-century at the best score of 193.
“A big thank you to all my teammates, support staff, net bowlers, analysts, logistics team, umpires, ground staff, scorers, media personnel, and all those who tirelessly work behind the scenes to enable us to compete and play this game we love.” Pujara addressed the note.
“The game has taken me to places across the globe- and the passionate support and energy of the fans has always been a constant. I have been humbled by the wishes and motivation wherever I have played and will always remain grateful. And of course, none of all this would have been possible or meaningful without the innumerable sacrifices and steadfast support of my family.” The Saurashtra batter added.
