Star Sports Experts pick their top 4 semifinalists in T20 World Cup 2026

The Indian cricket team came into the T20 World Cup 2026 as the defending champions under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and finished the group stage of the competition as the table toppers. They won all of their group-stage clashes and ended with eight points in four encounters at a net run rate of +2.50.

India won their opening encounter of the group stage against the United States of America (USA) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai before claiming another victory against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The 2024 champions’ second game of the Super 8 stage of the competition will be on February 26 against Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This will be the first meeting of the two sides in India, as the latter will also face the opponent for the very first time at this venue. The dew factor will be a vital factor for this clash.

The last Super 8 clash of India will be against the West Indies on March 01 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
