Jurel completed his century in 114 deliveries with nine 4s and three 6s. At the end of Day 3 of the 1st unofficial test between India A and Australia A, the keeper-batter remains unbeaten for 113 runs after facing 132 balls. Padikkal also remains not out after scoring 86 off 178. Padikkal batted with a more defensive approach, while Jurel tried to add some pace in their partnership.
At the end of Day 3, India A, after 103.0 overs, reached the 403-run mark for the exchange of 4 wickets. Dhruv and Padikkal together formed an 181-run partnership against a total of 247 deliveries. In this partnership, Dhruv added 113 runs, and Padikkal's contribution was 60. The keeper-batter from Agra emerged as the first centurion for the India A side in the game. On the other side, Australia A scored 532 runs against 6 wickets with two centuries. Narayan Jagadeesan and Sai Sudharsan bagged half centuries each, and both were looking confident on the track but failed to convert the momentum for a three-digit score.

The century of Dhruv Jurel came at the right time, ahead of the India vs. West Indies Test series. The 2-match Test series is scheduled to start on October 2 this year. Before the series, the hundred from Jurel can be considered as a statement to the team selectors.
Jurel was with Team India during the 5-match Anderson-Tendulkar trophy. He got his chance as a replacement for injured Rishabh Pant. Jurel played the Oval Test and scored 19 and 34 runs, respectively, in the first and second innings.
