After the win, Suryakumar Yadav repeated the famous celebration that Rohit Sharma had done earlier. He picked up soil from the Ahmedabad pitch and placed it on his forehead. Earlier in the match, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bowl first. However, the decision backfired as India’s batters launched a powerful attack. Abhishek Sharma returned to form with a brilliant half-century from just 18 balls. It became the fastest fifty in a T20 World Cup final.

Sanju Samson once again delivered a standout performance with the bat. He scored a superb 89 runs from 46 balls, hitting five fours and eight sixes. Samson and Abhishek Sharma added a quick 98-run partnership at the top. Ishan Kishan also contributed significantly with a valuable fifty.

India eventually finished with a massive total of 255 runs. During the chase, New Zealand kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Jasprit Bumrah produced a sensational bowling performance to lead the attack. His spell helped India bowl out the Kiwis and win the finals by a huge margin of 96 runs.
