Rishabh Pant, the most entertaining personality in Indian cricket franchise, reminded everyone one more time why everyone loves him—both for his cricketing ability and on-field antics. Famous for his blunt reactions and hilarious stump mic moments, Pant never disappoints. On the 4th day of the Headingley Test match between India and England, the free-spirited wicketkeeper-batter came up with yet another viral one-liner.
As of Lunch on Day 4, India was 153/3 in their second innings, and they had added to a first-innings score of 471. Pant was unbeaten on 31 off 59 balls, and KL Rahul was steady at the other end on 72 off 157 balls. Shoaib Bashir, from England, took 0/17 off 5 overs.
Pant walked out to bat after the dismissal of Shubman Gill, who was dismissed cheaply by Brydon Carse. The left-hander attempted to make a mark early on, employing his signature step-out style. But the English pacers shut their lengths and kept Pant under wraps, not letting him play openly. As the balls started getting under the bat and the runs dried up, frustration set in—and that's when the stump mic picked up another gem.
"Ye vaali ball tameez se khelne ke chakkar me chuth rahi hai," Pant observed, keeping viewers in stitches and aglow on social media. The amusing remark was made when Pant was relegated to a defensive role, something obviously beyond his attacking nature.

More Banter: Pant Targets Ben Stokes Too
Pant's quick wit didn't end there. On Day 3 of the same Test, Indian keeper Pant was also spotted mocking England captain Ben Stokes for his extremely cautious on-field attitude. Telling Stokes to "play sensibly," Pant's sarcastic comment put pressure on the Englishman, who soon lost his wicket—giving India a vital breakthrough.
Whether with the stumps or bat in hand, Rishabh Pant injects unprecedented vigour into the game. His stump mic adventures are now part of his emerging legacy as one of the most entertaining and passionate cricketers in the world.
