Hosts and defending champions India are getting ready for their crucial last Super Eights fixture of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which is against two-time champions West Indies, while it is a virtual quarterfinal of the tournament, as the winners will qualify for the Semi-finals. The Indian team has arrived in Kolkata for the upcoming Group 1 fixture, which has been scheduled for Sunday night (March 1).

Iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata is ready to host the India vs West Indies fixture, which is also the last game of the Super Eights of the tournament. Both India and West Indies are two-time champions, as cricket fans are waiting to experience a thrilling game on Sunday. 

India and West Indies both have two points each in Group 1 of the Super Eights, while the Caribbean team is above the hosts due to having a better net run rate. The winners of the match will advance to the Semi-finals of the tournament, while South Africa have already booked the knockout place from Group 1.

India and West Indies are ready for Super Eights clash in Kolkata

Both India and West Indies won all their group stage matches in the tournament. In the Super Eights, both teams suffered comfortable defeat against the unbeaten side South Africa, while both Men in Blue and the Caribbeans thrashed Zimbabwe. 

It will be the third match for West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026, while India will play their first game at this venue in the tournament. However, it is a very familiar and iconic venue for Men in Blues with a lot of history.
