India and South Africa (IND vs SA) are all set to face each other in a multi-format series. The bilateral contest is scheduled to start with a 2-match test series, starting from November 14. After that, teams will collide in a 3-match ODI series.

BCCI is yet to announce the full squad for the One Day International series. Ahead of that, there are some speculations running on social media platforms. India suffered a 1-2 defeat against Australia in the 3-match ODI series recently. Rohit Sharma made a return through the series and performed brilliantly. He smashed a century and a half-century to make his comeback memorable. But his opening partner, Shubman Gill, who is also the captain of the ODI team, performed underwhelmingly throughout the series. 24 was his highest knock during the Australia vs. India 3-match ODI contest.

Before the ODI series against South Africa, which is scheduled to start on November 30, Indian cricket fans are already curious to know about the probable opening combination of Team India. Along with Sharma and Gill, India has multiple batters, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is already well known for his batting credibility as an opener.

Team India to face South Africa in ODI with an new opening pair?

Jaiswal has been warming the bench after the conclusion of the India vs. West Indies series in the middle of October this year. In that test series, he smashed a century to showcase his batting talent. The southpaw has been doing well in domestic matches as well. So far, Jaiswal, also a proven limited-overs batter, has surprisingly played only one ODI match for India.

It is now believed that the team management can try out a new opening pair in the upcoming India vs. South Africa ODI series, where a part of the fans are expecting to see Rohit and Yashasvi as the opening pair and Gill at the number 3 batting position and Virat Kohli at the number 4 spot. Though, it is too early to predict a playing combination for the match.
