The match was held at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, where Hardik Pandya was expected to return to the MI playing XI after missing the previous game.

However, rain affected the much-awaited clash, and the match was reduced to 11 overs per side. Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bat first. As per the revised rules, each team played 11 overs, the powerplay was 3.2 overs, one bowler could bowl a maximum of 3 overs, four bowlers could bowl up to 2 overs each, and there was a 10-minute break between innings.

Amid all this, a light moment went viral on social media when Rohit Sharma reacted to the weather. In a video shared by the Mumbai Indians, he was heard saying, “Bahar thanda kaisa ho gaya itna,” in his calm and funny style, which quickly became popular among fans.

According to AccuWeather, an orange alert was issued from 4:40 PM to 7:35 PM on Tuesday. Commentator Harsha Bhogle also shared concerns and gave updates about the changing weather conditions.

The India Meteorological Department in Guwahati warned about thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rain in nearby areas such as Bajali, Baksa, Chirang, Darrang, Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Morigaon, Nalbari, Tamulpur, and Udalguri over the next few hours.

In the latest update, the Mumbai Indians said that players had not come onto the field due to light rain. The toss was delayed, and the covers remained on at Barsapara Cricket Stadium. However, there is some good news for fans, as the rain is expected to slow down later in the evening. Depending on the delay, a full match or a shorter game is still possible.
