London Spirit women stood nervously while Welsh Fire women pushed hard but just came up short two runs short in a nerve-wracking conclusion at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. London Spirit elected to bat and posted 124 all out in 99 balls with Charli Knott top-scoring with a resolute 47 off 33, while Welsh bowlers Katie Levick (3/26) and Freya Davies (3/16) did considerable damage. When Welsh Fire came to chase down 125, they appeared to be on track at 73/1 after good starts from Sophia Dunkley (36) and Hayley Matthews (26).
