Match Details:

  • Match: Manchester Originals Women v Birmingham Phoenix Women (Match 28)
  • Venue: Emirates Old Trafford - Manchester
  • Toss: Birmingham Phoenix Women (batted first)
  • Date: Sunday 24 August 2025

Birmingham Phoenix Women earned their second victory of the season with a 16-run victory over Manchester Originals in a match at Old Trafford that never truly looked like going any other way. After winning the toss, captain Ellyse Perry led the way with a classy unbeaten 55 (48), alongside Sterre Kalis, who contributed 43 runs from 39 balls, resulting in the Phoenix finishing 111-3. The Originals' fortunes did not get off to a great start, as they lost both their openers, Beth Mooney and Kathryn Bryce, to ducks. Although Seren Smale, 29 off 34, and Lauren Filer, who chipped in with 19 off 11, made some minor contributions, it was not enough to challenge the total required. They fell for 95 after being cleaned up by Megan Schutt, 3-14, and Phoebe Brett, 2-11, which kept Birmingham Phoenix's slim qualification hopes alive.
