After a nail-biting contest in Match 4 of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2025, Birmingham Phoenix Women came out on top with an exciting 11-run victory over Trent Rockets Women at the Edgbaston ground. Phoenix won the toss and decided to bat first. With a fantastic innings from Emma Lamb, Phoenix would finish their innings with a score that turned out to be very defendable. After chasing down the required runs, which saw a blazingly rapid innings from Nat Sciver-Brunt, the Rockets finished just short as disciplined bowling from Birmingham sealed the deal in front of a roaring crowd.

Phoenix made a slow start, as Georgia Voll (19 from 16) played some nice shots before she fell to Alana King. When Emma Lamb came to the crease, the match changed dramatically as she scored 55 from 32 balls at a strike rate of 171.88, with 9 fours and a six. Ellyse Perry scored 14, while Amy Jones and Sterre Kalis scored 8 and 4,, respectively. 

The innings was finished off late by Ailsa Lister (21 from 17)* and *Marie Kelly (23 from 10)**, who helped Phoenix finish on 148/5.

Trent Rockets Women Innings: 137/6 in 100 balls

In pursuit of 149, the Rockets lost Grace Scrivens (2) to Perry early, followed quickly by Bryony Smith (29 from 19) to Em Arlott. The Rockets were unable to settle, and Captain Ashleigh Gardner (2) went soon after Heather Graham (8), leaving even more of the chase in the hands of Nat Sciver-Brunt, who played a wonderful innings of 64 off 41 balls that included 8 fours and a six.

However, with wickets going regularly and the Phoenix bowlers keeping the pressure on, the scoring wasn't easy. Emma Jones (9*) and Alana King (5*) were left with too much to do, and ultimately the Rockets closed on 137/6, 11 runs short.
