Match 5 of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2025 turned into a nerve-racking low-scoring thriller, with Manchester Originals Women (MCRW) maintaining their composure to triumph over Oval Invincibles Women (OVLW) by just 2 runs. Again being asked to bat first, the Originals finished on 139/6 on a difficult pitch, thanks in part to captain Beth Mooney’s authoritative innings. As the Invincibles moved through their innings, they were well placed in the chase, but the Originals pulled together some tight death bowling to complete a dramatic victory.

After losing Kathryn Bryce early, Beth Mooney was heavy on the front foot, scoring an assertive 70 off just 45 balls, with 10 fours at a strike rate of 155.56. She got some assistance from Bryce (24 off 18) and Amelia Kerr (15 off 15). Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, the Originals scraped a total of 139, which ended up being just enough.
