Watch: 'Their policies...'- Shoaib Akhtar reacts to India winning T20 World Cup 2026

The former pacer of the Pakistan side, Shoaib Akhtar, has dropped a bombshell statement on India winning the T20 World Cup 2026 after they got the victory against New Zealand on March 08 by a massive margin of 96 runs at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Akhtar commented on a program. 

The pacer, Shoaib Akhtar, claimed that India had been such a powerful unit that they arranged a series by inviting the other teams, and they ended up winning the trophy without putting in any sweat.

“It’s like when there’s one rich kid in a neighborhood who calls all the poor kids and says, ‘Come, let’s play cricket.’ That’s exactly what India is doing with us. Out of eight teams, they keep four, and out of those four, they call three again and move forward, and then they say, ‘See, I’ve won.’ They have ruined cricket entirely.” Akhtar said in the show.

Shoaib Akhtar praises India’s system and policies

Shoaib Akahtar also lauded how the BCCI respected their former players, including Kapil Dev, Rohit Sharma, and MS Dhoni, all of whom were presented during the final, besides revealing how the board used the money at the right place in the system and policies of the game.

“First, their policies and system have won, and most importantly, their merit has won. They have used the money at the right time. Gautam Gambhir used two kids and Sanju Samson to win the trophy against all the odds. And he took the risk on the merit, which is Samson. Abhishek is a kid, but today, their policies and system have won. They have selected 15 players, and they have worked.” The veteran addressed.

“They said goodbye to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the last season, and they have now won the World Cup. They were part of the winning squad, but I feel that the way they have spent the money on their policies and the system is excellent. And they have respected their elders. How beautifully they have invited their former captains. If they want, they can take the 2027 ODI World Cup.” The former Pakistan pacer highlighted.
