Bumrah Talked About His Wife’s Favourite Snack:
While comparing the UK's Twiglets with India’s Chakali, Jasprit Bumrah revealed that his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, really enjoys Chakali and it’s one of her favorite snacks. The pacer highlighted her love for the traditional Indian snack while rating both, offering a light and personal moment during his appearance on SPORTbible’s ‘Snack War’ show.
He said, “ This is what actually my wife loves because this is something that comes from her home side as well.”
During the segment, Bumrah was given pickled walnuts to try. After the host jokingly cautioned him about the taste, the Indian pacer humorously asked if he was being offered the unusual snack as a result of taking too many wickets against England, adding a fun twist to the conversation. He said, “ Is it because I've taken a few wickets of England.”
Bumrah playfully asked the host if he was being used as a ‘guinea pig’ to test unusual snacks. Surprisingly, he picked the pickled walnuts over the pakoras (fritters). His reaction after tasting the pickled walnuts added a humorous touch to the moment, showing his willingness to try something new despite the odd choice. He further said, “ Basically, you made me the guinea pig, and this is an experiment.”
Jasprit Bumrah Reminisces Fond Memories After Tasting Samosas:
While enjoying samosas on the show, Jasprit Bumrah recalled a sweet memory from his childhood. He shared that his mother often bought him samosas when he was a kid. Bumrah fondly remembered riding his bicycle to pick up the popular Indian snack, making it a special part of his early days.
Jasprit further said, “ My mother used to give this as a treat to us. There was a shop that was nearby where I, as a youngster, would go on my bike and get it for our family. So, this has got a lot of memories to it, that I've been eating it since I was a child.”
Jasprit Bumrah played a key role in India’s recently concluded five-match Test series in England. Although he was rested for the second and fifth matches due to workload management, he still finished as India’s second-highest wicket-taker, picking up 14 wickets in five innings.
The intense series ended in a 2-2 draw, with India securing a narrow six-run win in the final match. Bumrah is expected to spearhead the bowling attack in the upcoming 2025 Asia Cup, starting September 9.
