Watch: Thrilling last-ball drama in DC vs GT IPL 2026 clash
David Miller failed to score two runs on the final ball of the DC vs GT IPL 2026 match, as Gujarat Titans claimed their first win of the season by claiming a one-run win in the game.

The Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans IPL 2026 match on Wednesday night was a thriller, where the Titans claimed their first win of the season, earning two important points. DC star David Miller played a heroic knock, but just fell short of securing the victory for his team. It was the first defeat for the Capitals this season.
It was the battle between the in-form Delhi Capitals and struggling Gujarat Titans. While the Capitals won their first two matches of the season, the Titans lost their first two games of the tournament. Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi hosted the thrilling match, which ended dramatically.
After GT were sent to bat first, they scored 210/4 in 20 overs, thanks to three 50+ scores. In reply, Delhi Capitals scored 209/8 in 20 overs, with the hosts needing two runs on the final ball, but it ended in a runout without a run being added, and GT won the match by one run.
Three 50+ scores led Gujarat Titans to 210
While the opener Sai Sudharsan (12) was dismissed cheaply in the third over, his opening partner Shubman Gill, and the next two batters Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar scored 50+ runs to set a challenging total.
While Gill scored 70 off 45 balls with four fours and five sixes, Buttler scored 52 off 27 balls with three fours and five sixes, and Sundar scored 55 off 32 balls with six fours and two sixes. Gill and Buttler had a quick-fire 60-run partnership, which experienced Buttler's dominance majorly, while Gill and Sundar then had a 104-run partnership for the third wicket.

David Miller just failed heroic finish
In chase, DC openers Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul had a 76-run first-wicket partnership. After Nissanka was dismissed for 41 runs off 24 balls (six fours and one six), Rahul carried the innings, while David Miller was retired hurt at 12 runs. Before his dismissal in the 17th over, Rahul scored 92 off 52 balls with 11 fours and four sixes.
In the meantime, Miller returned to the crease and almost became a hero of the match by single-handedly securing the game with his powerful batting. Hosts needed 13 runs in the last over, while the slow over rate forced GT to allow only four fielders outside the 30-yard circle. However, Prasidh Krishna still managed to defend the score.
After smashing a six on the fourth ball of the final over, the chase came within the range of the hosts, as DC needed two runs in the last two balls. Miller denied a single on the fifth ball, which went to the deep-backward square leg, as it could guarantee at least no straight defeat for DC (could only lose in a Super Over). The last ball was a slower one, which Miller missed but ran for the single, while wicketkeeper Jos Buttler successfully managed to throw the ball to the striker-end wicket, as Kuldeep Yadav was run out.
