Birmingham Phoenix Women lost to London Spirit Women in the Hundred Women's 2025 match 18

Birmingham Phoenix Women were beaten by London Spirit Women by 88 runs in Match 18 of The Hundred Women’s 2025 at Edgbaston. Chasing 165, Phoenix collapsed from 16/0 to 76 all out in 79 balls under the pressure. Before that, Kira Chathli's rapid 69 off 35 balls and Grace Harris's cameo of 34 off 15, propelled Spirit to a formidable total of 164/6. Although Emily Arlott took 3/25, Phoenix's batting unit only put up a mocking performance against a clearly disciplined bowling standout of Spirit. Here are the main reasons why Birmingham Phoenix Women lost the match:

1. London Spirit’s Batting Brilliance

London Spirit made a massive score of 164/6, putting them in a strong position. Kira Chathli cut a stunning 69 off only 35 balls, while Grace Harris provided late power with 25 off 11. Their fearless batting made a move that Phoenix struggled to match.

2. Birmingham Phoenix Batting Collapse

Phoenix never got going in the chase, crumbling to 76 all out. Emma Lamb top-scored with 23 off 13, but apart from Emily Arlott (10) and Amy Jones (10), None of their batters could build partnerships, and they slipped to 58/7 before collapsing further. The lack of resistance against disciplined bowling left them out of the contest.

3. Spirit’s Disciplined Bowling and Fielding

London Spirit’s bowlers were precise, making run-scoring hard at every point. Eva Gray ended with 2/13 and captain Charlotte Dean ended with 2/16; Charli Knott was also successful with 1/7. Their accuracy, in conjunction with good fielding, ensured this was a complete win for the team.
