Top 3 reasons why Purani Dilli 6 lost to North Delhi Strikers in the DPL 2025 match 16
North Delhi Strikers defeated Purani Dilli 6 by 27 runs in DPL 2025 Match 16, powered by a strong top-order start and clinical death-over bowling.

Purani Dilli 6 lost by 27 runs against the North Delhi Strikers in Match 16 of the DPL 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium. PD 6 could just get 152 chasing 180 and then they were bowled out; however, Pranav Pant, Vansh Bedi, and Lalit Yadav played fighting knocks. Strikers’ clinical bowling and a strong start in batting were definitely the winning combination. Here are the main reasons why PD 6 lost the match:
1. Explosive Top-Order Start by North Delhi Strikers
Sarthak Ranjan’s quick-fire 51 off 33 balls and Arnav Bugga 39 off 26 gave a great start to NDS. Their aggressive strokeplay put the PD 6 bowlers under pressure right from the start. This base allowed NDS to post a challenging 179/8, thus setting the tone of the encounter.
2. Match-Turning Death-Over Bowling
Deepanshu Gulia’s (3/17) accuracy was incredible as he got rid of important batters on key occasions. Harshit Rana (2/25) held the pressure in the last overs with calm rhythms. These two together in the death overs not only stopped PD 6 from a late burst but also handed over the win to NDS.

3. Early Wickets and Lack of Big Partnerships
The fall of early wickets broke PD 6’s chase and therefore no momentum could be built. Though Pranav Pant, Vansh Bedi, and Lalit Yadav were able to contribute valuable knocks, none of them was able to provide an extended story. The constant demise of wickets not only drove the required rate higher but also led to their eventual downfall.
