In the 2025 Champions Trophy final, Rohit Sharma played a key role in India’s historic win.

Veteran India batter Rohit Sharma went through a year of contrasts in 2025. The year began on a tough note when he dropped himself from the playing XI due to poor form in the fifth and final Test against Australia in Sydney in early January, a match India went on to lose.

Things soon improved for the Mumbai cricketer as he led India to Champions Trophy glory on March 9, defeating New Zealand in the final. Later, on May 7, Rohit announced his retirement from Test cricket, ending a 67-match career in which he scored 4,301 runs, including 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries.

Another major moment came ahead of the ODI series against Australia in October, when Rohit was removed as captain, and Shubman Gill was given the role. Despite India losing the series 2–1, Rohit produced strong performances and finished as the Player of the Series. As 2025 comes to an end, Rohit managed to leave a strong mark on the game. Here is a look at the top five records and milestones achieved by the 38-year-old during the year.
