Sanju Samson returned with a magnificent century in a match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at Chepauk in IPL 2026. After struggling for form in the first three games, he answered his critics with this performance. It was his first century as CSK batsman, which turned out to be the first hundred in the ongoing IPL 2026. It was also the fourth IPL century in his career.

Even after getting a lifeline when he was dropped on 52, he made full use of the chance. His stroke play and timing were perfect for the entire inning.
Samson played strokes all around the wicket and did not allow the bowlers any time to settle down. Samson hit one of the most memorable shots, a huge six off Kuldeep Yadav over deep extra cover. Along with Mhatre, he helped CSK reach 130/1 in 13 overs. The duo made sure the run rate stayed high in the middle overs.

Samson reached his century in style in the 18th over off T. Natarajan. It was a yorker on the leg stump, and he closed the bat face to get a leading edge that ran through third man for a boundary. The shot looked a bit lucky, but it took him to his hundred in 52 balls. It was his fourth IPL ton and a perfect comeback after missing out in the first three matches.
At the time of writing, Delhi Capitals are yet to begin their chase, needing 213 runs from 120 balls against Chennai Super Kings.
