The left-handed opening batter of the Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, came into their opening clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati in superb form after his fantastic century in the final of the U19 World Cup 2026 against England in Harare.
Suryavanshi didn’t take much time before smashing the big shots around the park after he got the life on the very first ball of the innings. The short ball went high on his bat before Karthik Sharma dropped a tough catch and slipped at the boundary rope with the ball rolling over the boundary.

Suryavanshi smashed the fourth ball of the opening over against Matt Henry over the deep mid-wicket for a massive six before nailing the last ball of the over for a strong boundary. On the fifth delivery of the third over, the southpaw slashed the bowler over the deep backward point region for a powerful four.
On the third and fourth ball of the fifth over, the Bihar-born clubbed the pacer, Anshul Kamboj, for two successive boundaries before finishing the over with a massive six as the ball was smashed over the long-on with a big back-lift.
When Noor Ahmed was introduced into the attack, Suryavanshi cleared his front leg and deposited it into the stands for a massive six and celebrated his fifty in just 15 balls with another over boundary as he brought his wrist into the play and launched it over the long-on region.
Suryavanshi’s fifty in 15 balls became the second fastest for the Royals in the history of the IPL after Yashasvi Jaiswal's fifty in 13 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023.
