When Yashasvi Jaiswal broke into the scene, there was no doubt behind the left-handed batter earning success across formats. And he did so quite rapidly in the Test matches. However, Jaiswal wasn’t able to crack the ODI format in the limited chances he got. But the third ODI of the three-match series saw him notch up his maiden half-century in the format.

The Indian opening batter was dismissed against the left-arm pacers in the first couple of games of the series. The southpaw was challenged on the outside edge, besides being bounced out to the short balls, which created incredible pressure on the opening batter. But in Visakhapatnam, he was careful in the first few overs.

Once he got his eyes in, Jaiswal went after the pacers and spinners around the park and nailed the big shots. The Mumbai-born started his knock with a fine six over the long-on against Lungi Ngidi. Even after the fifty, he drilled two successive boundaries in the chase.
